Privacy Policy
Last reviewed 12 August 2026. The honest summary: there is no reader database, and what exists stays in your browser.
Summary
Open World Story Campaign keeps no reader records. Your traveller name, pass key, age answer and cookie choice are written to your own browser's local storage and never leave your device.
Stored locally, in full
- Age answer — a single flag so the question does not repeat on every page.
- Traveller list — the names and pass keys created in this browser.
- Current reader — which traveller is signed in, so the header can greet you.
- Cookie choice — whether you accepted all entries or the basics only.
All four disappear the moment you clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks, retargeting pixels or behavioural profiling.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data, since no data set exists.
- No email requirement to read, and no mailing list of any kind.
- No attempt to identify individual readers.
Letters you send
If you write through the letter form we receive exactly what you typed. Letters are read by the three people who keep the shelf, used only to reply, and deleted once the exchange is finished.
Third parties
Typefaces are requested from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts their servers and they may log that request under their own policy. Embedded chapters load their own assets. Neither receives anything about you from us.
Your rights
Because nothing personal sits on a server, access, correction and deletion rest entirely with you: clear the site data and every trace is gone. For letters already sent, write again and we will confirm deletion.
Minors
The site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone younger, and we ask guardians of shared devices to use system-level controls.
Updates and contact
